Best You Should Have Heard: Fleet Foxes

There’s so much to love about the Fleet Foxes, and at this point, so many people have said so many brilliant things about them it would be rather redundant to throw my commentary into it.

I should however like to note that they have a 6 song EP available – Sun Giant – for about 3 bucks (digital version), and my favorite track on the album, Mykonos, is available for free. Their 11 track, self titled album can be had for 8.99 if you get the whole thing, or 99 cents per track (you do the math, people).

I strongly recommend you go ahead and pick up Mykonos if you’re interesting in a full-length sampling of what this amazing band is capable of conjuring, or the entire Sun Giant EP. For the price of a large mostly-sugar-chemicals-and-fat at your local fauxbucks, you could have 6 tracks of pure listening gold. For your further enjoyment I have taken the liberty of setting up this here imeem embed with two of my personal favorites: White Winter Hymnal (which I never tire of no matter how many times I hear it) and Mykonos.

Fleet Foxes Two-fer

(*Cough* – and for what it’s worth if you do decide to purchase either album through Amazon’s DRM-free digital service, would you be so kind as to go through the Amazon widget rather than the imeem widget? That way you’d be supporting us at RKNet and the band! :D Every little bit counts and we sure would appreciate it. Thanks, gentle readers, you’re the best.)
