Wallpaper: The Book of the Law

While the Flickr link and image will undoubtedly automatically post here, I wanted to make sure that the full, original 1400 x 900 version of the image was also readily available. Enjoy!

Inspired by Liber Al Vel Legis, The Book of the Law by Aleister Crowley

Chapter 1, passage 3: Every man and every woman is a star.

Front Page Overhaul!

The front page of the site finally got an overhaul! As you can see, it is much less of a CSS nightmare than what the Wayback Machine will prove the previous incarnations were. It’s also got a custom fancy wallpaper-y background, too. As more content emerges that is best suited to its very own page, a navigation and so forth shall emerge from the overall chaos. The other new page is my Author’s Profile page, containing everything you need to (stalk) find out more about me, too.

I’m looking forward to getting the proper info from the other contributors and authors (*hint*) so they can also have profile pages. Report any obvious bugs, please.

100 Papercraft Ideas + Paper For Your Walls

Creative Close up did a post with photos of and links to 100 papercraft ideas. If you’re unfamiliar with the term “papercraft”, it can be defined as: taking a pattern for a 3d object and constructing it entirely out of paper. Not quite like origami, since you are encouraged to cut, glue, and supplement to achieve the final product.

The closest to papercraft I’ve gotten is making a dunce cap by rolling up a sheet of 8.5×11 and taping it. Still, with 100 ideas and resources to pull from, maybe I can move up to something more interesting and advanced. And remember kids, the paste is for putting on the paper, not eating. I know there’s a picture of that smug steer on the bottle, but I promise you Elmer’s is not exactly a delicious burger in liquid format.

Speaking of paper, earlier chesh in #ectomo shared a really great link to some of the prettiest wallpapers I’ve ever seen. I mentioned that it would be super neat if they could make wallpaper that copied the evil elf wallpaper in the house on Dutch Hill from The Wastelands, but I couldn’t find a scan of the art from the book to demonstrate what I meant. Anybody with a handy scanner and whatnot that can hook me up?

Holiday-shmoliday: V-Day Wallpaper 2

I went in to reproduce the first wallpaper in a more common format and went and made a different one entirely. Luckily for you this one is in 1024×768, which is much more common than the previous one which I have yet to doctor into something more practical.

For this I found myself inspired by the age-old saying: “Love means never having to say you’re sorry” - which is a load of crap, but somehow charmingly sentimental. Ah well. Enjoy the fruits of my blood, sweat, and tears you freeloaders… er, I mean, enjoy the wallpaper. Don’t forget to re-visit this and the previous post for more sizes of each. Card friendly PDF versions for easier printing will be generated on-demand.

Holiday-shmoliday: V-Day Wallpaper

Let it never be said that I throw complete disfavor upon arbitrary, stupid holidays based around the martyrdom of one of three possible guys in order to overwrite pagan tradition. Far from it, any excuse to get more color in my dreary winter, and of course free candy, is a good excuse.

That said I have prepared a lovely little something to give to the one you’d like to get all cuddly-wuddly with for this (contrived, commercialised) Valentine’s Day. It works well as a wallpaper for 1600×1200 displays. I may edit this later to include other, more common screen sizes, so be on the lookout.

Please enjoy! The majority of this was constructed using photoshop brushes located over at brusheezy. They’re absolutely wonderful and I highly recommend checking them out at your next earliest convenience.
